Graduate Studies and Research Mission Statement

"Graduate Studies and Research is a key component that will enhance the prestige and reputation of University of the Bahamas as a world class institution.  The Office of Graduate Studies and Research will inculcate a culture of creativity and innovation, leading to the creation and dissemination of new knowledge through transdisciplinary research, consultancy, effective partnerships and hybrid graduate programmes.  We will advocate excellence in all areas of scholarship with all stakeholders and make transformative discoveries that will impact the nation and the world."

ADMISSIONS
To be considered for admission into a UB graduate programme, applicants must
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or meet entry-level requirements as specified by the degree programme for which they are applying;
  • Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.00 grade-point scale or the minimum cumulative GPA as specified by the degree programme for which they are applying;
  • Complete an interview;
  • Meet any other requirements as stipulated by the specific programme.

Additionally, applicants may be required to submit scores from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or other standardized tests taken within 12 months of the date of application. Usually, a combined minimum verbal, quantitative and analytical score of 1500 is required.
