Scholarships & Awards:

  • Application for Astarita Nassauvian Art Scholarship - The Astarita Nassauvian Art Scholarship was established in 2011 by Mrs. Helen Astarita in support of a full-time student having primary residence on the island of New Providence who is enrolled in an Art degree programme. The estimated value of the scholarship is $7,000.00 per annum. 
  • Application for Merit-Based Scholarship - Merit-based scholarships are granted solely on the basis of academic excellence. However, consideration may also be given on the basis of leadership in extracurricular and community activities.
  • Application for Need-Based Scholarship - Private donors and organizations make funds available to University of The Bahamas students to help pay tuition and fees to ensure that no Bahamian is denied the opportunity to earn a degree solely on the basis of financial reasons.
  • Application for Private Book Award - Book awards are given to deserving Bahamian students who are pursuing a specific discipline or degree programme at University of The Bahamas and who are in financial need.
  • Application for Private Bursary - Private bursaries are established by donors and organizations to support University of The Bahamas students with demonstrated financial need.

Special Collections, Library - This collection houses all the materials with a Bahamian and Caribbean orientation, whether by Bahamian or Caribbean authors or about The Bahamas or the Caribbean. These include periodicals, rare books, government documents, and faculty and student research papers.

Student GovernmentUniversity of The Bahamas Student Government Association (SGA) which serves as the student voice to the faculty and administration. The president of SGA sits on the Board of Trustees of the University of The Bahamas. Additionally, under SGA leadership, students are the initiators and planners of a large number of campus activities under the aegis of the Campus Life Department.
