Open Access Week 2022: Open Access Week 2022

October 24-30 2022 is International Open Access Week, a global event celebrated to highlight scholarly communication in the Internet age. This year the theme is “Open for Climate Justice”.

This year’s focus on Climate Justice seeks to encourage connection and collaboration among the climate movement and the international open community. Sharing knowledge is a human right, and tackling the climate crisis requires the rapid exchange of knowledge across geographic, economic, and disciplinary boundaries.

“Open Access” to information – the free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results as you need – has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted in academia, medicine, science, industry, and for society as a whole.

Open Access week is an opportunity for the UB community to learn about Open Access and to help make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research. To access Volume 28 of the IJBS, visit http://journals.sfu.ca/cob/index.php/files.
